Aren't we all like this Sheep?

Are we not all like the state of this sheep when we are weighed down by sin? I have been this sheep in my life. I have been weighed down by my mistakes, and sins and have needed the cleansing power of my baptismal covenants by working towards being worthy to partake of the Sacrament after my transgressions left me unworthy to do so. Like this sheep and his heavy matted wool, while we may get "used" to carrying around the heavy burden of sin and transgression, it is just as painful to our spirits as this wool is to this poor sheep. Only through confessing our sins in prayer and, if need be, our Bishop, and forsaking our undesirable actions can we begin the steps of repentance that are made possible by the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. His sacrifice makes our ability to be cleansed possible. His sacrifice allows us to shed our matted, dirty, heavy wool and feel at peace and light again. In contrast, Satan only wants us to be miserable like himself, which is why his only goal is to leave us trapped in our misery with the lie that there is no way out and that we don't even deserve a way out if there was one. Let us not be like this sheep, let us take advantage of the beautiful and special gift of the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who descended below all so that we could be able to repent and be happy.
